Temple of Shree Haleshi Mahadev is in Khotang District of Nepal between the two holy rivers Dhud Koshi and Sun Koshi. It believes that in this Cave Lord Shiva was hiding from the Demon Bhasmasur for 6,000 years. The Cave is 67 feet below the land surface and has east face entry shaped as a half moon. It has a round shape, with a diameter of 193 feet, with a separate cave lying beneath. The floor is 223 feet in circumference. During Ram Nawami, Ganesh Chaturthi and month of Shrawan fairs and festivities are held in the area. Hindus from India also visit this place. This place is usually cold and rainy. Nowadays it is accessible by motorcycles and jeeps.
