Ramdung peak lies south of Na village in the vicinity of Rolwaling valley with its elevation of 5,925m /19,439 ft. Rolwaling region is considered as the attractive region for majestic panorama views of mountains, diverse flora and fauna and rich local Sherpa cultures. Ramdung peak, also known as Ramdung Gho offers complete amazing mountain scenery of Mt. Gaurishanker –Melunagtse Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Chobabhamre peaks that straddle the border with Tibet and many other massif mountains of Himalayan range. Ramdung is one of the groups of peaks around the Yalung La Pass that provides route to upper Rowling valley from the southern flank of Khare Khola. The Scottish Himalayan Expedition team led by Bill Murray was the first to explore this incredible Ramdung peak in 1952. Since then, the peak has become an ideal for climbers for a true adventurous climbing of above 5000m in the Himalaya region of Nepal.
Ramdung peak climbing offers trekking and exploring around Rowling Valley as it is the combination of peak climbing and Rolwaling valley treks with the high pass of Tashi Laptsa 5,755 m /18,876 ft. This cultural and adventurous treks starts right from Dolakha Bazaar which just 132 km east to the Kathmandu valley and then to a small village of Singate 970m / 3190 ft the lowest area of this treks and then trekking up to Ramdung base camp at 5,150 m /16,896 ft on the vicinity of Tashi Lapcha pass after leaving the main village of Rolwaling area Beding and Na, then the treks leads South West ridge to climbing the summit because it is the accessible route and most climbed route. After a successful attempt to the summit another adventure awaits traversing Tashi Laptsa –la pass then descends to Khumbu region to Thame and the most famed town of Namche Bazaar and finally concluding this adventurous trek at Lukla for a short scenic flight back to Kathmandu. This region is influenced by Tibetan culture as it lies close to Tibetan border. This trek offers majestic chance to be in the midst of local old Buddhist culture, tradition and its lifestyle.
