Annapurna IV Expedition

Annapurna IV stands at an elevation of 7,525 m / 24,688 ft this peak from both side of Annapurna can be clearly seen, Annapurna Mountain range lies above the magnificent Manang Valley. Annapurna in Sanskrit means Food or Crops enough “The Goddess of Harvests” as the mountain makes the glacier and the glacier fees the river and the river irrigates the farm fields yielding crops food enough for everyone and this whole of Himalaya and Annapurna regarded and respected as an abode of mountain spirit , god and goddess. Annapurna range is the most popular among trekkers, climbers and for scenic tours. Annapurna range of mountains includes Annapurna I (8,091 m  / 26,545 ft), Annapurna II ( 7,937 m / 26,040 ft) Annapurna III  (7,555 m / 24,786 ft)  Annapurna IV (7,525 m / 24,688 ft), Annapurna South  (7,219 m (23,684 ft), Gangapurna 7,455 m (24,457 ft) and many other peaks over 6,000m. Including the majestic towering dominating
Mt. Machapuchere (Fish Tail) at 6,997 m the only peak of this region unclimbed and well respected by local natives. This incredible mountain range lies in the Annapurna Conservation Area, the first and largest conservation area of Nepal.
Mt. Dhaulagiri another famous world’s 07th highest mountain at 8,167m lies North West to this range, the scenic Pokhara located in this region dominated by range of mountains from Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna to Manaslu range is the start and end of many treks and expeditions Pokhara an adventure play ground for all kinds of sport from paragliding, ultra light and scenic flights in the background of tall mountains and placid lakes.

The German expedition group led by Heinz Steinmetz was the first to make successful summit attempt on Annapurna IV in 1955 via Northwest Ridge.
This peak is relatively considered as an easier mountain to climb as it doesn’t demand technical mountaineering skill. That’s why it is technically not challenging like others peaks but its high altitude is the major factor. Many climbers have made attempt to its summit an ideal mountain for major 8,000 meters expedition preparation and practice. 

Climb to A IV best approach with a trek on the Annapurna circuit trail up to Humde or Hongde village from where we make our approach to the base camp at 4,575 m / 15,010 ft, above the base camp three more camps are made for the summit bid with Camp I, Camp II and Camp III. The summit offers panoramic mesmerizing views of Annapurna range, Manaslu, Tilicho peak and many other mountains of massif Annapurna Himalaya. After successful attempt to the summit descend using the same route and continue trekking on the Around Annapurna circuit trail crossing Thorong-la Pass at 5,416 / 17,700 ft to reach the sacred place both for Hindus and Buddhists at holy Muktinath which literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’ this place if flooded with pilgrims and India and Nepal in auspicious time as per Hindu and Buddhist Luna calendar from here trek downhill in the world’s deepest gorge at Kali Gandaki valley and to the windswept scenic valley at Jomsom headquarter town of Mustang area, from here concludes our awesome adventure  with breathtaking view short flight to beautiful Pokhara valley and to its city overnight in the comfort of nice Hotels by pristine Lake Phewa / Fewa after an enjoyable moment in Pokhara board on the tourist standard bus for five hours of interesting drive back to Kathmandu.
